Delegation is the key to your success

Delegation is the key to your success and well-being.

In order to be successful at what you do, you have to accept help from others. Collaboration and teamwork are the springboards from where new ideas bounce off. Therefore, the quality of your work improves when you receive input from others.

In order to accept help from others, you must let go of pride, recognising that others can have ideas just as good as or better than your own. As long as everyone is working towards the same goal, you can benefit from the expertise of your colleagues.

You need to work hard to perfect the skill of identifying talent in those around you. Listen to others and watch out for their strengths so that you can delegate appropriately. When you delegate, you are free from worry because you trust those with whom you work.

You delegate because you cannot do everything efficiently on your own without wearing yourself out. You preserve your health and renew your strength when you maintain a manageable workload.

You need others to help you achieve your goals. Free up time to focus on the big picture by delegating the small stuff.

Success is sweeter when shared with others. When you get to the top of the mountain you want to have someone with whom to share the view. The relationships formed along the way are as worthy of celebration as the success itself!

Today, relinquish control of your affairs, accept the help of others and delegate to them. Enjoy time to rest and play when the workload is shared amongst a team of capable people.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Do I accept that I need help from others?
  2. What task am I holding on to that I need to delegate?
  3. How will my life improve once I allow myself to delegate to others?

  1. Excellent post and wisdom. In it’s infancy Microsoft actually had an idea board in their office. it was used to help the employees collaborate on ideas and form new ones. It was said to be an integral part of their success.

In my experience as a manager, I noticed that the more ownership in the business to employees the more they stepped up to the plate. Their ideas were great and the smiles on their faces even better. We shared the success we earned. It was a beautiful thing. Thanks again for always providing so much thought and inspiration in your posts.
