It’s time to stop procrastinating. Your ability to procrastinate is getting in the way of you achieving your dreams and goals. Every time you procrastinate over a work based task you’re eating in to the time that you can spend doing something you really enjoy. Does precious time with your family suffer due to your inability to stop procrastinating.
Procrastination is nothing but a way of evaluating something and assigning a meaning to it that keeps you from taking action. At some level, mostly subconscious, you believe that taking action will be more painful than not taking action and by design; you will prevent yourself from taking action.
You may be dreading a task you think is too difficult or boring and procrastinating about beginning it.
Begin to stop the flow of procrastination by jotting down a list of tasks you’re avoiding. Don’t put down easy tasks or ones you have no problems with.
Now, divide the tasks into sessions to keep from being overwhelmed by having to do it all at the same time. When you see the project divided into easy-to-manage slices, it won’t look so daunting.
Some of us keep waiting for a task or project to be perfect before we consider it finished. Sometimes good is good enough, I’m not saying that you do shoddy work, but stop aiming for perfection. Allow yourself the proper time and focus on a project and then consider it done.
Be sure you have the right equipment and space you need to finish the task properly and it will be easier to let go.
Reward yourself for a job well done. When you’re looking forward to something you enjoy at the end of a project, you’re more apt to finish it in a timely manner and quit putting it off to a later date.
So stop procrastinating your wasting time that could be spent with your family.
