Strive to manage your time effectively

Life provides you with many things to do and sometimes you may think you manage your time effectively, but do you?

There are activities you want to do as well as activities that you feel you must accomplish each day. You visit relatives regularly. You love seeing your friends. You take care of your important relationships. You spend time with your children. You do whatever you can to manage your time and so successfully manage these many priorities.

You manage your time by living your life as consciously as you can. You are mindful of which tasks are required of you on any given day. You keep short lists of things that must be completed. You add special entries for activities you want to do.

Your thoughts are concerned with finishing “must-do” tasks while scheduling in things you yearn to do. You schedule your life well.

Even though you get very busy throughout the day, you find you’re able to live in the moment and enjoy it to its fullest. As you manage your time well, you can work hard on a project for a few hours and then enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend.

Playtime with your kids is filled with love and laughter. Such moments compel you to do everything you can to consciously plan and manage how you spend your time.

Today, review how well you’re dealing with your schedule. You know you can complete work tasks, finish home projects, spend time with those you love, and still have a bit of time left for you each day. Effective time management is tops on your list.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How do I feel about how I spend my time?
  2. Do I do everything I can to manage my schedule effectively?
  3. Are my highest priorities reflected in my schedule? If not, how can I rearrange my routines to fit in more of what’s most important to me?
