What is Time Management

“What is the major problem? It is the major problem? It is fundamentally the confusion between effectiveness and efficiency that stands between doing the right things and doing things right. There is nothing quite so useless as doing the thing with great efficiency that should not be done at all.” (Peter Drucker)

What is Time Management?

Time management is nothing more simple than taking control in order to achieve. Whether this is over a long period of time or within the next hour is dependent on what you want.

If only the life of a small business owner and entrepreneur was that simple, however time management can be as easy or difficult as you want to make it.

Essentially time management can be viewed as taking action:

  • For the right reason (because it is linked to a goal or objective).
  • At the right time (by prioritising).
  • In the right way (by being organised).

Why is time management difficult?

Improving your time management takes effort and a firm desire. The ability to become more effective, both personally and professionally, is entirely based upon your attitude and to what extent you are prepared to grasp the nettle and do something about, what to many, is an increasingly frustrating business issue. Only once you have taken the decision to better manage your time, can you start to think about how you are going to use time management techniques practically in both your work and home life.

If you have not already done so, why not make a start by downloading our free e-book “20 Top Time Management Tips“. By implementing just some of the tips, you will be taking steps to improve your time management.

If you really have made the decision to improve your time management and become so efficient and productive that you free up two hours a day, have a look at our three hour “Time Management Workshops“, which are run as public events every month but can also be run as in-company training.
